BILL TO EXEMPT SNOW REMOVAL FAILS

Good news and “Thank You”.  House Bill 251 which eliminated snow removal from a definition of maintenance in State Law regarding required ACHD responsibilities is no longer viable. We need to work together to resolve the Boise City/Ada County dispute.  It passed out of committee to be amended, but the bill fizzled as resistance increased.  Your emails were a big help.  Pictured are streets (yes there are two there in the Camas/Cole Road area that weren’t plowed until about January 10. Jury Pay

Jury Pay has been a minimum daily $10 plus mileage since 1968. Government and some private employees get their full salary while serving, but the daily $10 is a hardship for others.  In 2013,  with a Republican co-sponsor, I proposed a bill to allow counties to pay up to $50 a day, which passed, but only a few  counties do so.
