Good news and “Thank You”. House Bill 251 which eliminated snow removal from a definition of maintenance in State Law regarding required ACHD responsibilities is no longer viable. We need to work together to resolve the Boise City/Ada County dispute. It passed out of committee to be amended, but the bill fizzled as resistance increased. Your emails were a big help. Pictured are streets (yes there are two there in the Camas/Cole Road area that weren’t plowed until about January 10. Here is what I had to say regarding this bill:

Thank you, John! I’m impressed with your dogged determination to see this through. I’m starting to learn how hard it is to make the right things happen in the Idaho legislature. It takes courage of a type most people will never try to develop in themselves, but they expect it of you because of your position of leadership. I’m grateful for your work on behalf of Idahoans on this crucial issue. I don’t know about you, but I got stuck in snow several times this winter and was glad to have kind neighbors. There needs to be an overall recognizable and reasonable plan that works well even in extreme situations such as this past winter.
