Jurors in Lengthy Trials Get Pay Raise

My bill to raise jury pay with state funding from the insulting $10 a day to $50 a day for lengthy jury trials passed this session. People compelled to serve by law should at least receive minimum wage and after several tries: progress. Now it is up to the County to find money to increase pay for others who serve. These kids deserve safe schools and they organized a heck of an event – maybe 5000-7000 people. Their reasonable safety is a government obligation and Sue Chew and I were so pleased to help carry the March For Our Lives Banner along with Council Member Lisa Sanchez. And my daughter and my 4 year old grandson walked nearby. John McCrostie played the clarinet in the Idaho Peace Band.

University Tuition Doubles But State Funding Stays Flat

I requested a legislative staff update to a compilation of University tuition and State funding. It shows Tuition has doubled in 8 years while State funding is pretty flat – despite a substantial increase in students!
